IPO at International Security Conference
On October 3, an international scientific conference was held, organized by the Faculty of Law of the University of St. Kliment Ohridski. This University from Northern Macedonia https://www.uklo.edu.mk/ with a tradition of 40 years and a really respectable history of holding conferences this time gathered experts from over 30 different countries. Unfortunately due to the corona virus pandemic the conference was held online. We say unfortunately because this institution is known as an exceptional host at all types of meetings of experts, especially when it comes to security experts.
The conference was opened by the Minister of Justice S. Of Macedonia, Mr. Bojan Maričkić, after which the Deputy Minister of Education, the Dean of the Faculty of Law and other high-ranking officials spoke. The conference had as many as 5 parallel panels with as many as 48 exhibitors, which is an exceptional result in this situation and only confirms the quality of the conference and the papers that will be published. We thank the organizers who invited us to participate and give our members the opportunity to participate. This time, the IPO was presented with a scientific paper entitled Advantages of EU membership in the fight against organized crime. The paper is the result of scientific research by Daniela Trajkovski from Macedonia, President of the IPO Montenegro Ivan Pekić and President of the IPO Ilija Životić.
Due to the busy schedule of the co-authors, the paper was presented in English by the President of IPO Serbia, Ilija Životić, as part of the third panel, when Dr. Vince Vari Major of the Hungarian Police on the topic of civilian control of the security services and the role of the civil security sector in the country, Prof. Dr. Laura Stanila, professor at the Faculty of Law in Timisoara, Major Prof. Dr. at the Police Academy in Budapest Mr. Matjas and others.
