IPO DELEGATION AT BERLIN SECURITY CONFERENCE

This year like previous years IPO had a delegation at the prestigious Berlin Security Conference  BSC / 22th Congress on European Security and Defence which was held from 29 November to 30 November 2023.

The Behörden Spiegel – the most important monthly newspaper for the Public Services in Germany – has been organising the Berlin Security Conference for 22 years now. It is supported by an Advisory Board composed of key international personalities.  

We were the only professional organization from the civil security sector between ministries of foreign affairs, defense, and chiefs of stab.

Seats were reserved for our team in the first lines thanks to our previous activities at the security sector. We can freely say, we were only in suits between uniforms with gold stars.

Last year, BSC was first security conference in EU after Russian aggression on Ukraine, and this November it was first after HAMAS attack on Israel.

That only means, we had an opportunity to be in a small group of high individuals who were on source top informations about.

Some of the speakers from decision-makers were: Katja Keul, Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Germany, Marcel de Vink, Vice Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Netherland, Anne Marie Aanerud, State Secretary for Defence, Norway, Lauri Tierala, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Finland, Roy Chun Lee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Taiwan etc.

List of high military personal also was very interesting : Admiral Rob Bauer, Chair of NATO Military Committee, Lieutenant General Marcus Laubenthal, Deputy Chief of Defence Staff, Germany, General Gabor Borondi, Chief of Defence Staff of Hungary, Rear Admiral Jens Nykvist, Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff, Sweden, General Onno Eichelsheim, Chief of Defence of the Netherland, Boris Pistorius Federal Minister of Defence, Germany, Kajsa Ollongren, Minister of Defence Netherland etc.

Our delegates, IPO Founder, Prof Ilija Zivotic PhD, IPO Executive President Dr. Mareglen Tomori, Dr. Klarida Rrpaj Representative of IPO Section Italy, Branisalv Eskic from Diplomatic Corps, Ivan Pekic MSc IPO Section Montenegro President.

Except chance to hear what is new in EU and NATO approach in security issues at conference and panels, our delegates had a lot meetings at margins, where they were able to speak about some details not spoken in public, but for their ears only.

Also, it was a chance to see some friends and associates from different countries who helped us to establish some sections in previous years.
