IPO SECTION MONTENEGRO CONFERENCE

The International Police Organization IPO Section Montenegro organized a scientific roundtable discussion titled "Drug Cartels as Terrorist Organizations – Security, Legal, and Political Aspects" in the "Ksenija" hall of the Hilton Hotel in Podgorica.



The initiative for this significant event was launched by IPO CG Executive Director Mr. Momčilo Šćekić, with the support of IPO CG President Dr. Ivan Pekić, IPO CG Secretary-Mr. General Boris Janković, and our esteemed members.


Drug cartels cannot be equated with terrorist organizations, as they differ both formally and substantively, was the key message from the roundtable organized by the International Police Organization of Montenegro.

During the discussion, experts in security, law, and politics shared their views, contributing to the debate with professional analyses on possible solutions and strategies for combating this phenomenon.


The event was opened by the Minister of Regional-Investment Development and Cooperation with Non-Governmental Organizations, Ernad Suljević, and moderated by the excellent journalist Tijana Perović.


Speakers at the roundtable, in addition to our President Dr. Ivan Pekić, included Dr. Dritan Abazović (Member of the Parliament of Montenegro), Prof. Dr. Mehmedin Tahirović, Marijana Šindjić (Chief Advisor to the Ombudsman), Prof. Dr. Željko Spalević, lawyers Veselin Radulović and Andrijana Ražić, Mr. Nedjeljko Đurović, Dr. Ljubiša Konatar, Mr. Samir Hadžić, and Mr. Svetlana Đokić.


In addition to the speakers, the roundtable was attended by numerous distinguished guests from the fields of security, law, and academia, whose presence further emphasized the importance of this event.


This highly significant event marks another step in the efforts of the International Police Organization of Montenegro to improve security policies and strengthen cooperation in the fight against organized crime.
